FAST-NUCES is widely regarded as the premier institute for Software Engineering and Computer Science in Pakistan. Unlike NUST, the FAST Entry Test has **negative marking**, making it one of the most challenging exams for students. Accurate execution is far more important than fast guessing.
1. The Test Format and Negative Marking
The FAST test features separate sections, each with its own time limit:
- Advanced Math (50 MCQs): Pure FSc level math. Requires fast computations.
- Basic Math (20 MCQs): Arithmetic, percentages, ratio-proportion, and basic algebra.
- Analytical Reasoning & IQ (20 MCQs): Pattern recognition and word problems.
